The sport of Clay Target Shooting can involve the whole family, with Mum, Dad and the Children (must be over the age of twelve) all participating. Why not try it and join in the fun. Clay Target Shooting offers many types of competition which gives shooters an opportunity to specialize in the discipline that best suits them. These are all shot at clubs throughout Victoria, although some may not have the facilities to cater for all disciplines. Stawell Clay Target was officially opened in 2004 as part of a complex for sporting and competitive shooters. A group of friends had a dream to build a complex for sporting and competitive shooters in Stawell. When the Stawell Gold Mines tailing dam was offered to the community for rehabiliation, with an incredible amount of dedication and hardwork, the group successfully built the SCTC. The complex allows for all shooting disciplines to be co-located on a single site. There is a clay target, rifle – small and full bore and pistol club.Work on the clay target range has produced first class facilities, extensive landscaping and very comfortable conditions for shooters and spectators, with a large club house suitable for a variety of functions. Stawell Clay Target is a family friendly club. Visitors and new shooters are welcome. We have a monthly 100tgt shoot every second Sunday from 12.30pm plus additional shoots throughout the month. The site includes: 3 x Skeet, 3 x Sporting Clays , 8 x Down the Line Traps. Some of the benefits of clay shooting: 1. It's great fun! 2. It builds physical discipline. It's suitable for all ages and abilities. 5. It's a family sport. Shooting is a sport the whole family can participate in. It promotes family bonding and creates memories lasting a lifetime. The family that shoots together, stays together! 6. It promotes personal responsibility. Personal responsibility is taught to ensure both safety and skill development. 7. It's a safe sport.
