Pistol Australia
Inaugurated on 16 June 1956 and first known as the ‘Amateur Pistol Shooting Union of Australia’ (APSUA), the foundation of this national association came through the joint efforts of George Rogers of Victoria, Bob Morgan of Tasmania and Fred Bott of South Australia who worked tirelessly overcoming many difficulties of that time to achieve this objective. APSUA was renamed Pistol Australia (PA) in 1991. In 2014 PA will fund a total of sixteen (16) juniors to attend the PA Junior Camp, which will be held 5 - 12 July. Eight (8) juniors will be invited by PA to attend the camp and a further eight (8) will be nominated by their respective State/Territory Association. In the event that a State/Territory Association does not nominate a candidate, PA will liaise with the other State/Territory Associations who wish to nominate an additional junior to fill such vacancies. If, after PA has received and approved all sixteen (16) PA funded candidates, the State/Territory Associations may nominate additional juniors who wish to attend the camp, however, this will be at the expense of the individual or the State/Territory Association. Castle Hill Small Bore Rifle Club
Castle Hill Rifle Club is one of many sporting groups that are associated with and fully supported by Castle Hill RSL. Rifle shooting is a safe, challenging sport people of any age can enjoy. To be a "good shot" requires a combination of hand-eye coordination, breathing control and concentration. Despite it being thought of as a male sport, women often outshoot the men because of better "fine motor skills". The Rifle Club is accessable to anyone who lives in the western and northwestern areas of Sydney, this does not exclude others who may wish to enjoy the sport of rifle shooting. It is sometimes surprising how far people will travel to enjoy a sport. The Range is located in Hylands Rd Greystanes, Hylands Rd runs off Gipps Rd/Greystanes Rd which runs off the Great Western Highway. See 'Visit this Website' link above. The shooting calendar is on this website. The club meets each second and fourth Sunday of each month (and fifth Sunday when it occurs), commencing at 9am and by prior arrangement on the first and third Monday evenings of the month commencing at 7.30 pm . The shooting calendar runs from February to November for grading, but shooting ceases in mid December. Club members do travel to other ranges, such as West Wyalong, Dubbo, Springwood, Mossvale, Sutherland, and Malabar for competitions. Within the club, people are given a "grading" after a period of time to ensure they are competing against people of a similar skill level. These gradings are used when competing against other clubs. People who are under 18 are referred to as "Juniors" and they complete against other Juniors when competitions are held. Due to restrictions, rifles must be loaded with single rounds only (no magazines are to be used) and only standard velocity rimfire (0.22cal) ammunition is permitted. If you have any doubts about this, consult a club Range Officer. Secretary: Roman Targonski, 0409 315 651 e-mail: castlehillrifleclub@bigpond.com |

Finley Pistol Club
Our club is located 2.5 kilometers south of the township of Finley on the Newell highway. The club is open every Sunday for competition and practice and every second Wednesday evening for competition and air pistol. We offer several discipline’s of shooting. ISSF standard, rapid, free pistol and centre fire matches, metal silhouette, steel challenge, and for 25 & 50 meter service pistol. Our target system is fully automated with turning targets on timers to comply with all disciplines of shooting. We also cater for the rapidly growing, exciting and competitive action of IPSC. Our range is set up with standing, swinging and large & small poppers. We have a large quantity of plastic barrels to make walls/barricades to increase the challenge. We run a minimum of 1 IPSC competition a month, with practice available whenever the 50 meter range is free. We are hoping to construct a dividing wall between the IPSC and service pistol so we can shoot IPSC at anytime. Our range is also approved for use of rimfire rifles. While no actual time is set aside for rifle competitions, we are hoping in the future to be able to offer this to members and visitors. At the moment members are able to use rim fire rifles for sighting purposes only, at a suitable time when the range is open and does not interfere with pistol shooting activities. Endeavor Pistol Club
The Endeavour Pistol Club participates in various disciplines of sports shooting. The club currently has approximately 80 members, ranging from juniors to seniors, both women and men. The club participates in matches such as Service, Rim Fire, Centre Fire, Metallic Silhouette and Air Pistol. The club is also affiliated with the SSAA. We encourage safe friendly competition. The Endeavour Pistol Club was founded in 1994. At that time the members were without a range of their own so a range in the Rocks area was hired for the first Saturday of every month. Members also competed at other venues within NSW. In 1998, with the assistance of Government funding from the Department of NSW Sports and Recreation and Dedicated members the Kirrawee Air Pistol Range was completed and officially opened by the honourable MP Danna Vale. The Club also uses a modern indoor live range in Botany, Sydney where it conducts the live fire Club Championships twice a year as well as monthly matches. The Kirrawee Air Pistol Range has 10 shooting bays, goods for sale, ample parking and also caters for disabled persons. It operates Monday and Wednesday evenings and is run by committee members. With steady growth, the club has grown to approximately 80 financial members. New membership queries are always welcome. See 'Visit this Website' link above. Hastings Valley Hunting Club
The Club holds its practice and competition days at the Hastings Regional Shooting Complex. The range is located at 81 Lady Nelson Drive, Port Macquarie. School Shooting Program: This program was introduced in 2009 through the participation of two schools: Christian Heritage College (Sept 2009) and Westport High School (Oct 2009). The students shoot weekly during school terms and the program handles up to 20 participants per session. Students are instructed in the safe use and handling of firearms, and are taught the correct procedure relating to range etiquette with safety being No. 1. Targets used are normal scoring ring targets. These are used for weekly assessments to check ongoing improvements. Vermin targets or metal silhouettes are used to give the student a fun element for the day. Regular improvements are seen over the course of the year. All equipment needed for the students (rifles, benchrests, spotting scopes, ammunition and targets) is provided by the Hastings Valley Hunting Club at the Complex Range. P.O.
